Care
Do you care for your Self?
Do you treat your Self with love, admiration, gentleness and care?
Do you dote on your Self?
Do you cater to your every whim?
Do you treat your Self as you would your loved ones,
your partner, spouse, children or even pets?
How much CARE do you give to YOU?
Now we are not asking how many treats you give your Self or indulgences such as things or food or whatever you use to deaden your senses or give your Self momentary joy. What we want you think about is the time, attention and value you proffer to your Self. Do you take care of your body? Are you mindful of its needs, aches, pains, or workings? Do you eat the right things and avoid excess in sugars, alcohol and caffeine? Do you eat a balance, healthful diet that energizes you and allows for the maximum energy or do you overeat or under eat or eat on the fly as you are doing everything else? Do you exercise or move in a way that is energizing or again is it out of balance with too much or too little? Do you listen to your body; we mean truly listen and then do what is asked?
It is time to attune your Self to what you need. Now many lament that they cannot “hear” the messages given, but we would refute that claim. If your body is hurting in some way or you are not sleeping or you feel out of sorts, you are “hearing” that you are not taking care of your Self. Do you listen? How many of you have allergies to things you eat or breathe? Do you avoid those things or do you medicate to be able to live with them? Is the food you don’t process well that important that you must eat it and then have your body be out of alignment? With airborne allergies, do you know what is truly causing them? Perhaps you could be allergic to foods you are ingesting and that could be exacerbating the airborne allergies. You might just be out of balance but how would you know?
So many of you want to be at peace and at a place of calm where you can meditate and be enlightened, but you are wanting to do this from a place of dis-ease or discomfort. When your body hurts or is out of alignment it takes your attention away from the inner peace that is yours. The journey to Self is harder when you have to overcome all the other things before you can sit peacefully and quietly. If you have too much stress or anxiety, how easy is it going to be to sit quietly for five or ten or more minutes? If you ache can you sit quietly and just be at peace and meditation. Think about it. Your bodies do an amazing job for you and yet you abuse them and then lament your lack of focus or peace.
Begin this week to take care of your Self. Listen to your body. Listen to the clues and the hints and the roadmap to wellness and begin to walk down that path. The joy that will be available as you leave the weights of unhealthy living and take on the mantle of health will move you astronomically forward in your journey.
We leave with great hope and love.
Namaste
