This Is Dedicated ……

I have been contemplating what to write about this week. There is a lot to choose from, but none of it seemed to gel. My thoughts were like quicksilver - shiny, inviting, and illusive, but luckily not toxic. This pervasive sadness fascinates, intrigues and entices me to dive deeper into myself and plumb the depths of this person I have created. It is late on Thursday night and no blog had come to me, so I returned to my first book of channeled meditations, “We Are All In This Alone,” and asked for the best lesson for the week. As always, the book did not disappoint. Enjoy.

DEDICATION

How dedicated are you to the things in your life that truly matter?

Now this is an interesting question for we often tell you that most things you worry about and try to control are not necessarily worthy of your attention, but there are things in life to which you should be dedicated.

Dedication for us is a form of commitment to see through a project or life event. Dedicate means to be committed to something in a very singular way. You dedicate buildings, you have dedicated phone and cable lines for your computers, you dedicate a ceremony to honor people and you can be dedicated to someone. Take a few moments to think about each of these uses of the word. Add some of your own. Look up dedicated in a dictionary and then sit in observation of your life to see where it fits.

Do you have a singular commitment to yourself and your evolution/healing? Are you dedicated to your job, your family, your spouse/partner? How dedicated are you to yourself? How committed to are you to being the best, healthiest, happiest, fullest human being you can be?

Think about people in your life to whom you might be dedicated. How much energy and time do you give to them and to their needs? Do you give equal time to yourself? Do you give more time to yourself or less? If more or less, estimate how much. You can do this either in percentages or in actual time. If it is less, why? Now we are not proposing that time and dedication must be equal for they are not, but it is interesting how willing you are to give away so much of yourself and not take replenishment and healing time for your own well being. What does it feel like when we suggest that you should do this? Does it feel selfish, small, frightening, stupid, overwhelming or strange? What is the fear attached with dedicating yourself to your own journey?

Yes, your journey may include being of great assistance to others, but it is never in complete denial of time for your own enlightenment. Look at even the greatest saints, they took time to be in meditation and communion with spirit so that they might better know how to serve and protect and heal others. Do you take the time to be in communion with source? With Spirit? With your God? It is a life line to Spirit that replenishes in a very short time period and empowers you to be more fully present in the world.

Become dedicated to spiritual replenishment and you will find energies, joys and knowledge you cannot currently imagine.

We leave you in dedicated contemplation.

Namaste
