Tension

How tense are you?

How tightly do you hold your Self?

Are your muscles relaxed and loose or

are your neck, shoulders and arms tight and stiff?

Observe your Self right now. Are you sitting calmly with ease or are you pulled up and tight? What are your thoughts like? Are you concerned about something or many things? Do you worry about the direction of your life, of other people’s lives? Are you constantly on-guard and watching for mistakes, errors, missteps or falters? Do you expect the best to occur or the worst? Do you believe in others and their abilities to follow through or do the right thing? Do you trust that the world could continue to spin if you closed your eyes for a moment?

We know there are a lot of questions, but we truly want you to take the time to notice how many or few of those questions pertain to you and your way of living. Now the argument will be that it is your job or things will go awry if you let down your guard and that could be true. However we would like you to analyze if it is necessary for you to be so vigilant, so on guard all the time.  When was the last time you truly relaxed? By this we do not mean laid down to rest or even just laid down to read or watch television, but really relaxed. Did you let all the worries and thoughts seep out of your mind and just go to a place of bliss and peace? When you are with friends are you calm and relaxed or is there always an edge to you?

Your society requires that many of you be constantly on watch. Due to the nature of communication, all mistakes, news, information is instantly transmitted and received. You are literally bombarded with data. The brain is a processor that runs your body and the more input the more it processes. Here’s a secret however, if you put less into your brain and allow for more quiet and peace, the brain will begin to function at even higher levels than before. It will be able to take the data and work with it for a longer period of time. Think about how much you put into your brain in a ten minute period. Observe your Self for ten minutes. Notice the phone calls, interactions with co-workers or family, material that must be read and dealt with and then add in our favourite….all the instructions from within your head. The coaching, judging and criticizing that goes on within your own minds is phenomenal. Just listen actively for ten minutes one day and observe what you are processing in that short time, then begin to multiply that out into your daily existence.

Is it any wonder you are tense?

Begin to allow your Self five to ten minutes a day to just blank out your mind and be at peace. The tension will begin to flow out of you and you will begin to find bits of peace.

We leave quietly and in love.
