Spirit
“Gonna lift me up to the spirit in the sky, that is where I’m gonna go when I die,
when I die and they lay me to rest I gonna go to the place that’s best.”
What is spirit? Are you spirit or is it only God or Allah or Buddha or Krishna or whomever you choose to see as the Divine Being. Perhaps you choose to see many as the Divine Being or no one, but who are you and what are you made up of? Are you only flesh and bones? Are you your personality or are you your soul? Do you have a spirit? Are you spirited? What does it mean? Please take a moment or two to think about what it could mean.
Observe a baby that is newly born. It has no programming from this world into which it has entered. It just arrives yet it has a personality, it has needs and while many are the same needs of thirst, hunger, affection, many of them are different. No two children are alike. They are like snowflakes each similar and yet unique. Together they form humanity. They are all one and yet they are all separate. What causes this to be? What causes children from the same family and parents to be so inherently different? Could it be their spirit? Their soul? What is the essence of you? Are you your depression, your weight, your emotions or are you a conglomeration of human overlays on a soul? Do you desire to find out who you truly are or do you despair of it because of all the day-to-day mundane tasks that are called living? Life is full of joy and yet most of you see heartache. Life is full of abundance and yet you all see scarcity. Life is full of love and most of you feel that you have none or if you do have love that you don’t “deserve” it. Nothing could be further from the truth. You are love. You are a bright spark of light that brings love to this planet. No child arrives here without being fully in love. That is the essence of this all and yet the overlays move you from love to all sorts of other beliefs, misperceptions and pain.
Today take a moment to be at peace with the spirit within you. Find the joy, find the love, find the possibility of living and stay there as long as you can manage. Then attempt to revisit it daily and as you do, we hope that the spark of joy will begin to grow and glow brighter for you each day.
We leave in peace and love.
