Determination
How determined are you? By this we mean how willing are you in the relentless pursuit of that which you desire? By desire we mean the path of enlightenment, healing, peace and calm that your soul desires. Now let us say that you have chosen something that you want to achieve. It may be a job or it may be a career (for they are different). It may be a lifestyle. So you have determined what you want and/or where you want to go. How determined are you to get there?
Your fears and insecurities are sure to arise as you begin to move in the direction of that which you want. All of your “can’ts”, “shouldn’ts” and “impossibles” will raise their heads. Your self-assurance and self-esteem will become more activated by this process. In essence when you boldly begin to pursue that which lights you up, the dark aspects of your being will come awake and begin to panic. Now this is not as dire as it sounds, but many of you are sensitized to what is wrong with you, or your life. You are not sensitized to what is good and right and powerful about you. So, determination will take practice. You will have to be fearless and bold. You will be called upon to work outside of your comfort zone. You may be asked to speak powerfully and approvingly of yourself. You will be forced to wear the mantle of confidence and to wear it daily and boldly.
So what do you do with the fears when they arise? You could simply push them away, but many of them are deeply ingrained and this may not be as easy as it sounds. We would suggest that you acknowledge the fear or doubt and then simply set it to the side and think of a replacement thought that is more empowering. After all, who is anyone to tell you- YOU - that YOU cannot be as magnificent as YOU choose to be? By acknowledging the concerns you have you recognize that they are just that – thoughts, concerns, judgments that you hold about yourself. They are self-imposed even if you first heard them from others. Examples would be “You’re not smart enough” or “You’re not hard working enough” or “What do you know about that business or topic or whatever.” So what? Many successful and accomplished people have reached their goals against all odds of what normal society finds “acceptable” by being determined and committed to the success and outcome. Remember that each day is a small bite out of the bigger meal of life. Begin to take determined small bites - nibbles if you must - and you will one day realize you have eaten a mountain.
We leave you in love and determination.
