Life Movies

I just finished a visit with friends of nearly 50 years. As always it was a delight.  They are interesting, multi-faceted and engaging. They have a big family of six children, eight grandchildren, brothers, nephews and then the rest of us, the family of friends. This time I was able to reconnect and/or meet a wide range of cast and crew who have crossed my path over the years.

The entire time a movie ran in my head spanning the 46 years of interactions and encounters. The folks I was able to see in person existed for me in present time and in many past occasions. They existed in the same time and space at all the ages both live and on my memory tapes. Some were only spoken of and their lives brought up-to-date, yet even those people existed in a variety of times and places.

The best part of the experience was that I was aware that the mental movie was running. My mind allowing for life reviews with each and everyone. To be fully immersed in my life with all of them was fascinating not only to watch and remember but to experience and then re-experience.

I realized a couple of things.  One is that my life has been enriched, enlivened and enhanced by this crowd.  Two is that AI has nothing on me.
